The Sanatorium
by Sarah Pearse

View in Library Catalog

The Sanatorium was intriguing in the beginning but didn’t make sense. For instance why would a woman kill other woman because she was raped and she wanted it known by killing these women plus the rapist and her brother who didn’t stand by her. She also killed for it to be known what tortuous abuse was done to the women who were placed in the sanatorium for no reason. The ending left everyone guessing who pushed the detective into the water. It was an ok read but didn’t make sense

The Regulators

While, in the end, I loved this book, I felt like it started in the middle of something that had been going on, and I fell a bit adrift. But it’s one of those stories that explains things after the fact, and it’s worth it so you just have to hang in there. Weird story about an autistic boy who becomes inhabited by something evil. Lots of violence, so you can’t be squeamish. The amazing thing is that the ending of this otherwise brutal book is actually very tender.

This book is so funny but Frank is doing a good job trying to change Greg.

The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy

Listened to this for extreme reading challenge for the satirical category. Was kind of fun, but quite bizarre. Had a bit of trouble keeping up with the story line at times. Great narrator! One of my favorite actors. Maybe, not quite my cup of tea, so to speak.
